I am working with Massachusetts General Hospital to design a solution to ensure on-time procedure start times. Through immersive on-site research, more than 20 in-depth user interviews, and quantitative analysis, I discovered a key insight: unclear pro-procedure communication led to patient anxiety and a subsequent increase in procedure times. I am now co-designing with patients and providers, to ensure their valuable input guides the development of a new pre-procedure patient journey. By improving communication clarity and reducing anxiety, we will streamline patient understanding and minimize delays, ensuring a smoother process for both patients and healthcare providers.
