Addressing health Inequality among South Asian women in the UK
The need to address the health inequalities faced by ethnic minorities within the UK has been highlighted by the pandemic. We need to design systems across the wider social determinants of health, beyond the traditional route of patient care pathways. North East London is home to a large population of South Asian women who face disparities in maternal health. Our endeavour is to bring about a change in this dynamic, step by step using culture as a driver. The question we ask is: How might we design systems to provide quality maternal healthcare for South Asian Women in the UK?
