Today’s global beauty industry produces more than 120 billion units of packaging every year. This giant industry highly relies on plastic, 95% of which lost their economic value after one-time use. Most of them end up being incinerated or discarded into oceans. Without immediate action, the amount of plastic in the ocean will increase three times by 2040. Meanwhile, beauty product packaging is specifically difficult to recycle because of multiple reasons. This project aims to contact industry-leading resources to find inspiration and research on how recycling and sustainability can be wildly achieved in the beauty field
