The "R:W" project addresses the issue of overconsumption and unsustainable fashion practices, particularly among millennials who struggle to maintain a sustainable and organized wardrobe. With 1.6 billion items of unworn clothing in UK wardrobes, this project aims to reduce the environmental impact of unused garments while optimizing personal wardrobe management.
"R:W" offers a solution through the creation of personal virtual wardrobes using digital twins, enabled by e-receipts and other user data. The service provides intelligent recommendations for outfit combinations, increases the re-wear rate of less-used clothes, and facilitates the resale of underutilized garments on second-hand marketplaces.
By leveraging AI and integrating data from sources such as location, weather, and schedules, "R:W" promotes sustainable fashion consumption. It empowers users to make the most of their existing wardrobe, fosters collaboration with brands to meet circularity goals, and supports the second-hand market through streamlined resale processes.
The project’s long-term vision is to transform individual fashion consumption behaviors, promote sustainable fashion practices, and contribute to a more environmentally friendly clothing industry. Through strategic partnerships and data-driven insights, "R:W" aims to create a positive impact on both personal and global scales.
