Cycle of Recycle - environmental sustainability in consumer beauty industry
Today’s global beauty industry produces more than 120 billion units of packaging every year. This giant industry highly relies on plastic, 95% of which lose their economic value after one-time use. Most of them end up being incinerated or discarded into oceans. Without immediate action, the amount of plastic in the ocean will increase three times by 2040. Meanwhile, beauty product packaging is specifically difficult to recycle.
In this project, we are getting in touch with industry-leading resources to research and provide inspiration on how recycling and sustainability can be widely achieved in the beauty industry.
